Why hasn’t China grown its military and security activities?
The East-West alignment in the current world competition does not reflect all aspects of the power game. It is possible that in a multipolar order, cooperation will be formed between some of the East and West poles, but with all these interpretations, the current stage and on the ground, the competition takes the form of a conflict between the West and the East. The existence of historical competition and the failure to eliminate previous grounds, the civilizationalization of the dimensions of the battle, the power of the Western Front in preserving its members, and such things have transformed the battle scene into an enmity between the Eastern and Western powers. On one side are the United States, Europe, and their allies, such as the Zionist regime and Taiwan, and on the other side are China, Russia, Iran, and, to some extent, North Korea.
This alignment exists, but as mentioned, it is not a complete scene of conflict. For example, China and Russia have special relations with the Zionist regime, and at the same time, these two countries have relations with some Western governments and parties. In the meantime, almost all governments have been involved in heated conflicts with each other, but the interesting thing is that China has been left out of them. European and American governments support Ukraine in its war with Russia, and the Zionist regime is also on their side.
Although the Zionists overthrew the government of Bashar al-Assad in relative coordination and with prior notice to Russia, this event was considered another blow to Moscow’s global influence. In the meantime, from India and Pakistan to Iran, the Zionist regime, Yemen, and Qatar, they have somehow faced the fire of war. Even North Korea experienced entering the hot arena of competition by sending troops to the Kursk province of Russia, which the Ukrainians had infiltrated, and also sending weapons to Moscow. China, however, has its special approach, although it has been forced to face changing conditions. In the India-Pakistan war, the first signs of changing conditions occurred with the successful use of Chinese weapons by Pakistan; J-10C fighters, PL-15 long-range air-to-air missiles, and Chinese defense systems shone in this battle.
There were also signs regarding the Iran-regime war; sending the necessary materials for missile fuel to Iran before the war, and publishing news that Iran had purchased fighter jets and defense from China were some of these pieces of evidence. At the same time, regarding the war in Ukraine, the Chinese clearly stated that they could not allow Russia to lose the war. The West has also tried to strengthen this evidence in order to stop or slow down China’s entry into the arena through media pressure.
The arrest of two Chinese on charges of spying on the Ukrainian missile program and several other Chinese citizens in Greece on charges of taking pictures of French Rafale fighter jets in the country’s possession are another part of these measures. Meanwhile, Germany has claimed that a Chinese ship used a laser against the aircraft while its surveillance plane was flying in the Red Sea, a claim that aims to highlight China’s support for Yemen.
