Will Ben Gvir resign?
The Israel Radio and Television Authority predicted that if an agreement is signed with Hamas on Gaza, Itamar Ben-Gwer, the Israeli Minister of Internal Security, will likely resign from the current coalition cabinet.
The organization explained that behind the scenes of the ongoing negotiations with Hamas in Qatar, there is a crisis in the ruling coalition in Israel.
The organization went on to say that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is being prosecuted by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity in Gaza, will hold a special meeting, the date of which has not yet been determined, with Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich to prevent the collapse of the ruling coalition in Tel Aviv.
On the other hand, Israel’s Channel 14 reported, citing sources close to Netanyahu, that Smotrich may not leave the government if the agreement is implemented.
Doha, the capital of Qatar, is currently witnessing a new round of indirect talks between Hamas and the Israeli regime, mediated by Qatar and Egypt, with the participation of the United States, to reach a new ceasefire agreement and prisoner exchange.
Over about 20 months, several rounds of indirect talks between the Israeli regime and Hamas on a ceasefire and prisoner exchange have been held, mediated by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States.
