PNN – The name of the former British Prime Minister has been raised as a candidate to head an “interim government” in the Gaza Strip to oversee post-war reconstruction!
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Financial Times claimed in a report that the name of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has been raised as a candidate to head a supervisory board called the “International Transitional Authority for Gaza” and that he is said to be developing a plan for governing Gaza in the post-war period!
According to the Times of Israel, this transitional government will govern Gaza for several years until it can be handed over to the Palestinians.

This plan does not include the relocation of Palestinians, an issue that has always been a red line for many in the negotiations.
BBC World Service wrote, “Tony Blair, who opened Britain’s path to the Iraq War in 2003, has been part of high-level talks with the US and other parties about the future of Gaza.”
Blair attended a meeting with US President Donald Trump and others in August to discuss the future of Gaza, and Sky News reported that the plan has the support of the White House.
According to the Economist, one of the aims of the interim government will be to obtain UN authorization to act as the “highest political and legal body” in Gaza for the first five years. If granted, Blair will form a seven-member council and a 25-member secretariat. The operational costs of the body will be borne by Arab countries.
Discussions about the future of Gaza and the occupied West Bank have been at the center of diplomatic circles in recent weeks, and in this regard, London officially recognized the independent state of Palestine on the eve of the United Nations General Assembly meeting last week.
