World Health Organization: Israel must stop attacking medical facilities.
Margaret Harris, a spokesperson for the World Health Organization, told Al Jazeera Qatar: A drone attack on Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza has caused serious damage to the medical facility.
She added: Four hospital staff and several patients’ companions were injured in the attack.
Stressing the prohibition on targeting medical facilities, Harris added: The World Health Organization strongly condemns this attack and states that all medical facilities and aid teams must be protected from any attack, as these actions are a clear violation of international law and increase the pressure on health services in Gaza.
The WHO spokesperson also said that the organization, along with the United Nations, calls for an immediate end to the fighting in the region and calls on people around the world to loudly demand an end to the ceasefire in Gaza.
Harris’s words reflect the serious concern of international authorities about the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
