Xi: China, US reach consensus on major economic issues

PNN – The Chinese president says that negotiating teams from Beijing and Washington have reached a preliminary consensus on how to resolve key trade and economic issues between China and the United States.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing TASS, Chinese President Xi Jinping, during a meeting with US President Donald Trump in the South Korean port city of Busan, announced the two countries’ initial consensus on how to resolve key economic issues between Beijing and Washington.

Jinping said: The trade and economic teams of the two countries have reached a preliminary consensus on resolving key issues of concern and have made encouraging progress.

According to him, China and the United States can help each other achieve common success and prosperity. He added: I have repeatedly said for many years that China and the United States should be partners and friends.

Trump had previously said he hoped the meeting would lead to an agreement for more trade between the two countries. He also announced his intention to reduce additional tariffs on Chinese goods imposed over fentanyl trafficking.
