Pak Sahafat – News sources reported the meeting between the presidents of Syria and China in the city of “Hangzhou” and their discussion about the bilateral relations between Damascus and Beijing and announced that Xi Jinping wanted to strengthen friendly cooperation with Syria in this meeting.
According to Pak Sahafat News Agency on Friday, the official Syrian news agency (SANA) announced today that President Bashar al-Assad met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in the eastern city of Hangzhou.
In this meeting, the two sides discussed the bilateral relations between Beijing and Damascus and ways to strengthen them.
The President of China stated in this meeting: Beijing wants to work with Damascus to strengthen relations and friendly cooperation.
He said: China and Syria are moving to announce the establishment of relations and strategic partnership.
Xi Jinping also added: China is ready to develop cooperation with Syria and jointly defend international justice in the current situation of instability. This meeting was held with the presence of members of the two countries’ delegations.

In this regard, he clarified: Syria was one of the countries that proposed a draft resolution to restore China’s seat in the United Nations.
Xi Jinping also stated that the relations between Syria and China have resisted changes in international conditions for 67 years and the friendship between the two countries has been stable over time.
He emphasized: Strategic partnership relations with Syria will be an important turning point in the history of bilateral relations in the face of unstable international conditions.
Syrian President Bashar Assad also said in his meeting with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping: We hope for China’s constructive role in the international arena, we reject the efforts of some countries to weaken Beijing’s role by interfering in China’s internal affairs.
He added: Syria is firmly opposed to any interference in China’s internal affairs and is ready to be China’s long-term friend and partner.
He said: China always supports the just aspirations of the nations of the region based on legal, humanitarian and moral principles.
Bashar Assad further noted that China’s policy in international forums is based on the independence of countries, respect for the will of nations and the rejection of terrorism.
He emphasized: This trip was made in an important time and conditions, because today a multipolar world is being formed, which will restore balance and stability to the world, and it is the duty of all of us to use this moment for a bright and promising future.
Bashar al-Assad also added: There is broad international support for the “One Belt and One Road” initiative because its goal is to achieve security and development for all through integration and unity, not through conflict.
Bashar Assad arrived in China for the first time since the civil war in his country 12 years ago, on Thursday to participate in a bilateral meeting. Beijing has announced that Assad’s visit will bring the relations between the two countries to a “new level”.
The spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry added that since the beginning of diplomatic relations between the two countries 67 years ago, China-Syria relations have made healthy and stable progress.
According to the Syrian President’s Office, Bashar Assad and his wife will visit Hangzhou and Beijing and participate in a series of ceremonies during their stay in China.
According to this report, a political and economic delegation of the Syrian president is also accompanying them on this trip.
