PNN – The former deputy chief of staff of the Israeli army Yair Golan referred to a new New York Times report about the regime’s prime minister and his war management.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Al-Mayadeen, Yair Golan, former deputy chief of staff of the Israeli army and head of the Democratic Party, believes that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his allies in the far-right coalition are leading the regime to the brink of destruction, in light of what the New York Times report revealed about the management of the war against Gaza.

Referring to the prisoner exchange negotiations, he wrote on Platform X: Netanyahu, Smotrich, and Ben-Guerre are once again sabotaging the agreement, and the lives of the soldiers and prisoners mean nothing to them compared to maintaining their position.

Golan described them as an “extremist minority” and held them responsible for continuing the war and obstructing any agreement, and called for the overthrow of the regime’s current cabinet to save human lives and the future of the regime.

According to the American report cited by Golan, Netanyahu intentionally prolonged the war against the Gaza Strip in order to achieve his political goals, including restoring his popularity and remaining in power.

He also rejected a deal that would have led to the release of 30 Zionist prisoners because he was concerned that Bezalel Smotrich, the regime’s finance minister, would threaten to bring down the cabinet.

In contrast, according to the Times of Israel, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office denied the report, calling it an attempt to tarnish the image of the regime and its army.
