Yemen’s Ansarullah vows reciprocal response to Security Council sanctions extension.

Yemen’s Ansarullah vows reciprocal response to Security Council sanctions extension.

In response to the recent decision of the UN Security Council to extend sanctions related to Yemen, Mohammed al-Farah, a member of the political bureau of the Yemeni Ansarullah movement, called the move “a continuation of an unjust and biased political process,” and stressed that the council had remained silent in the face of “Israel’s devastating crimes in Gaza” in the past years and had now once again become “a tool for dividing Western interests.”

He said that Ansarullah would have no hesitation in “protecting the rights of the Yemeni people, defending religion, and safeguarding the dignity of the nation,” and would deal “reciprocally and with all legitimate means” with any action that harms the interests of the country or targets its sovereignty and independent decision.

In another part of his speech, al-Farah referred to Russia and China’s refusal to vote in favor of extending the sanctions, describing it as “a manifestation of conscience and moral awakening.”

He added that Ansar Allah expected Moscow and Beijing to block its passage by firmly rejecting the decision, and that their position is an important step towards restoring some balance against Western hegemony.

The adopted resolution condemns Yemeni attacks on its borders and at sea and calls for their immediate cessation.

The Ansar Allah official also described the support of the United States and some Western countries for Israel as “unconditional” and said that the sanctions imposed on Yemen are “a tool to serve Zionist goals and punish the Yemeni people for their support for Gaza.”

He stressed that any pressure or action against Yemen will be met with a “proportionate response” and that the movement will not shy away from its right to legitimate defense.
