Zelensky Confesses “West wants The War To End ASAP”
According to Al Arabiya, Ukrainian President Volodimyr Zelensky says that there is a possibility of escalation of Russian attacks, but that Kiev will only accept a peace agreement that is fair.
Zelensky also repeated the request from the allies to send the air defense system and fighters to Kiev, and said: Russia’s biggest benefit is that Ukraine cannot use the weapons provided by the West to attack Russian territory.
He also pointed to the implementation of the general mobilization law from today, and acknowledged that Kyiv is struggling with recruitment and problems related to the morale of Ukrainian soldiers.
Although the Russian forces have made gradual progress in recent months, since the beginning of the May 10 attacks on the “Kharkiv” region, they have made significant gains on the northeastern border.
However, Zelensky has said that Ukraine will hold its defenses and prevent any major Russian success on the front line. He claimed: No one is going to surrender.
Zelensky also rejected French President Emmanuel Macron’s call for a truce during the Summer Olympics, saying the temporary truce would give Moscow the opportunity to move its troops, ammunition and artillery.
He added: “Ukraine and its Western allies adhere to similar values, but they often disagree, especially on how to end the war.”
The President of Ukraine continued: We are in a stupid situation; On the one hand, the West expresses disappointment over Russia’s defeat, and on the other hand, it does not want Ukraine to lose.
In response to a question about the possibility of ending the war with a scenario similar to what happened in the Korean War and the Korean Peninsula was separated by a line, he said: Everyone is looking for a way to end the war as quickly as possible. Global players such as China have influence over Russia, and the more such countries are on our side and demand an end to this war, the more Russia will be forced to tolerate and negotiate.
He added: “Our wish is that this war ends with a just peace for us, but the West’s wish is that the war ends as quickly as possible, and this is considered a just peace for them!”
