Zelensky: Europeans cannot help us without America.
The President of Ukraine has said that Europe cannot support Kyiv alone in the war with Russia without America.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that European countries cannot support Ukraine against Russia alone and without the support of the United States.
In a conversation with a German television network, Zelensky clearly stated that if the United States of America reduces its aid to Ukraine, Europe will probably not be able to support Ukraine either financially or militarily.
These statements are made by the President of Ukraine while American aid has been stopped for a long time due to the obstacles of the country’s Congress and internal political issues unrelated to Ukraine.
Concerns of the President of Ukraine about the reduction or even the complete stop of the aid of the United States of America have increased after the stream of great victories of the former President of the United States “Donald Trump” during the Republican primaries.
This is because Trump previously stated that if he is elected and wins the 2024 presidential election, the United States will completely cut off the country’s support to Ukraine and stated that his main focus is on ensuring an immediate ceasefire with Russia in 24 hours.
Trump’s claim to create a 24-hour ceasefire is stated without specifying the conditions and form of his Pinshadi agreement.
Zelenskiy’s concerns have been echoed by other Ukrainian officials such as Foreign Minister Dmytro Kolba. He had stated in early January that there was no other plan for Ukraine during the war if the American aid to this country ended.
Both Zelensky and his foreign minister have stated that they never expected such a dramatic drop in US support for Ukraine. He stated that even if Europe can support Ukraine sufficiently, the loss of US support will send a very bad signal to Ukraine.
America has had significant influence on Ukraine’s allies in implementing sanctions against Russia, and Zelensky has warned that the country’s absence in continuing its support for Ukraine will destroy the continuation of sanctions policies against Russia.
