Ukraine has insisted on receiving security guarantees from its Western backers to prevent further Russian attacks on the country. Russian President Vladimir Putin, however, has warned that any deployment of Western forces to Ukraine is unacceptable and that Western forces under any guise on Ukrainian soil will be legitimate targets for the Russian military.
America’s efforts to end the Ukraine war have been fruitless, and Russia has effectively rejected a meeting between Putin and Zelensky.
Zelensky added: We are ready to meet with Putin. I have talked about this. Both bilateral and trilateral meetings (with Trump), but he (Putin) is not ready. If there is no meeting of the leaders (of the two countries) and no ceasefire, we expect sanctions.
According to Zelensky, in the latest Russian airstrike on Ukraine, “a missile with cluster munitions directly hit an apartment in the center of Dnipro.”
He also posted images showing cars and a building on fire, and rescue teams transporting someone to safety.
Trump had previously said that Europe should stop buying oil from Russia. Zelensky has to make a deal, and the problem is that NATO and EU countries buy Russian oil. Zelensky will be forced to make a deal.
