PNN – The President of Ukraine has declared his relations with the U.S. President as normal, saying that unlike other Western leaders, he is not afraid of him.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Volodymyr Zelensky, in an interview with the British newspaper The Guardian, dismissed reports about a recent tense meeting in Washington and praised King Charles of the United Kingdom for helping strengthen his ties with the U.S. President.

He said that, unlike other Western leaders, he is “not afraid” of Donald Trump and denied reports of tensions during their last meeting in Washington, adding that he has a good relationship with the U.S. President.

The Ukrainian president rejected claims that Trump had thrown battlefield maps during an intense October discussion at the White House, saying, “Trump didn’t throw anything, and our relationship is ‘normal,’ ‘professional,’ and ‘constructive.’

Zelensky stated, “The truth is, the whole world is afraid of Trump. But we are not America’s enemies—we are friends. So why should we be afraid?”

Revealing that the United States is Ukraine’s strategic partner, Zelensky said King Charles played an important role in repairing his relations with Trump after their tense meeting in the Oval Office in February, when Trump had publicly pressured and expelled him from the White House.

Zelensky also said he is working closely with international partners to protect Ukraine from nightly Russian drone attacks. He announced plans to order 27 Patriot air defense systems from American manufacturers and said that, in the meantime, European countries could lend their existing Patriot systems to Ukraine.

He claimed that Russian forces have recently captured most of the eastern city of Pokrovsk and that the Kremlin has launched a “hybrid war against Europe,” testing NATO’s red lines.

Zelensky warned that Russia might open a second front against a European country before the war in Ukraine ends and linked the presence of unidentified drones in Europe to Moscow’s growing desperation in its war with Kyiv.

He further claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin views the U.S. and the West as enemies, saying, “For America, friendship with Russia is not the solution.”
