Zelensky warns about the dire fate of Ukraine without the help of the US Congress.
According to Tass, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, referring to the country’s vital need for aid, which has been blocked in the US Congress, said that if this aid package is not approved, Ukraine will lose the war with Russia.
Emphasizing the vital role of American aid to Ukraine in self-defense, Zelensky said: “If Congress does not help Ukraine, it will lose the war.”
He called the importance of the support of the US Congress very significant and said that without this support, Ukraine would struggle to overcome Russia or even maintain its sovereignty. Zelensky’s comments came amid ongoing efforts to pass the White House’s $60 billion aid bill for Ukraine; A bill that has remained undecided due to party disputes in the US Congress.
Zelensky also pointed to the wider consequences of a possible defeat in Ukraine, claiming that a defeat in Kyiv would embolden Moscow to expand what he called “Russian aggression and increase the possibility of using the nuclear threat to scare Western countries.”
The urgency of the situation in Ukraine becomes more prominent with the knowledge of the recent advances of the Russian army, including in the vicinity of the strategic city of “Chasif Yar” in the east of Donetsk.
