The Ukrainian president said that Kiev wants a quick end to the war and a resolution of humanitarian issues, but Moscow’s real position remains unclear.
He also emphasized: As we understand, Russia does not simply want a ceasefire to end the war, but also has other demands that I cannot assess without knowing the details.
Zelenskyy clarified that the United States is to transfer to Kiev a draft from Russia containing the country’s alleged principles for ending the war.
In another part of his speech, he said: I asked Trump not to make any decisions about Ukraine without us.
He concluded by saying: Our position is clear; we want the war to stop. But I really don’t know what the Russians’ position is; maybe they don’t even know what they want. They say they want something, but in reality they want everything.
