PNN – Ukraine’s president says Kiev is working on a “big deal” to buy weapons from the United States.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Politico, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says that the country is working on a “major deal” to purchase weapons from the United States.

Zelenskyy said at a news conference in Kyiv that Ukraine had provided US President Donald Trump with detailed specifications of its military needs, including a request for long-range weapons systems.

He added: We have discussed the main points with the (US) President and have reached an agreement. We are now moving towards practical implementation (of the agreement).

According to reports, the value of the package in question is estimated at around $90 billion.

According to Zelensky, Ukrainian officials will travel to the United States later this month or in October to hold technical talks on the purchase of weapons and a separate contract for the production of drones.

Zelensky, who met with Trump last week on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, added that he had raised with Trump “a specific view on what can be done to respond to Russia’s actions in the war against Ukraine.”

The Ukrainian president also said that “everything is clear about what Ukraine wants from the United States. We have submitted a request to the President of the United States containing detailed and illustrated explanations of what Ukraine wants.”
