According to Al Jazeera, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in response to the latest verbal gaffe by US President Joe Biden, who introduced him as the President of Russia at the recent NATO summit in Washington, said that it was a mistake.
Zelensky, who is meeting with the Prime Minister of this country, Simon Harris, on his way back from the NATO summit in Ireland, said after arriving at Shannon Airport: “It was a mistake.” I think that America has supported Ukrainians a lot. We can forget some mistakes.
Biden, who has been heavily criticized due to his old age and increasing concerns about his physical and mental ability to be the candidate of the Democratic Party in the November presidential elections of the United States, at the NATO summit that celebrated the 75th anniversary of the establishment of this military alliance in the Ukraine war (!), mistakenly introduced Zelensky as “President Putin” and gave him the podium!
Although Biden immediately corrected his mistake and claimed that the Ukrainian president was on the verge of defeating Putin, the gaffe once again drew attention to his age and fueled speculation about his sanity. This gaffe occurred only a few weeks after his first debate with Donald Trump, the former president and possible candidate of the Republican Party in the 2024 presidential election of the United States; A debate in which, according to many, Biden’s performance was disastrous.
