Zionist analyst: Opportunities became threats within 2 years.
Tesfi Bareil, a senior analyst for Haaretz, announced in its Monday issue that Netanyahu claims day and night that the war has changed the face of the Middle East, but the reality is that what Israel achieved militarily and on seven fronts was only tactical results and achievements, while the changes brought about by the war have fallen far short of the promises made by the prime minister and have even had the opposite effect.
In part, this lengthy article states: Amid the deep darkness that had enveloped Israel, a ray of light seemed to shine: “We are on the verge of a breakthrough – a historic agreement between Israel and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” the prime minister said in his speech to the United Nations in September 2023, promising that “such a peace will go a long way toward ending the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.” But less than a month later, the “Al-Aqsa Storm” shook the region.
Two years after the start of the war, it is still too early to conclude, and there is no way to predict when or how the changes taking place in the region will lead to a period in which a new era in the Middle East will begin.
According to this Zionist analyst, the dream of changing the Middle East is not unique to Netanyahu. US presidents, both Democratic and Republican, have long been convinced that the key to change lies in their pockets.
In 2006, five years after the occupation of Afghanistan and three years after the occupation of Iraq, George W. Bush told the United Nations General Assembly: “We are witnessing a bright future taking root in the greater Middle East.”
