PNN – Yair Golan, the head of the Zionist Democratic Party, spoke to FM 103 radio about the continuation of the war in Gaza. While stressing Israel’s inability to defeat Hamas, he also called for a halt to the war, the removal of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and early elections in occupied Palestine.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing FM 103 radio, affiliated with the Zionist newspaper Ma’ariv, in this interview, Yair Golan discussed the status of the ceasefire negotiations, the war in Gaza, the defense of Ronen Bar, head of the internal security agency (Shabak), and the policies of the regime’s prime minister.
According to the report, the head of the Democratic Party and an opponent of Netanyahu’s cabinet, regarding Hamas’ proposal for an agreement in the negotiations, which would include the release of prisoners, the withdrawal of the Israeli army from the Gaza Strip, and an end to the war, said: I think the Israeli (regime) should accept it and release all the prisoners as soon as possible. Golan added: The release of prisoners is one of the most important national, humanitarian, Zionist and Israeli interests, and it should happen as soon as possible.
According to Golan, the insistence on continuing and expanding the scope of the war in Gaza is politically in line with the interests of the Israeli Prime Minister (regime) and stems from his political needs. He emphasized that Netanyahu wants the Zionists to live in conditions full of constant tension, pressure, fear and anxiety, and warned that he should not be allowed to do so.
According to a report by FM 103 Radio, Golan then addressed the issue of Ronen Bar’s defense, calling Netanyahu’s efforts to question this defense contrary to the interests of the Zionist regime and calling for a stop to this dangerous game.
The Democratic Party leader also stated that the continuation of the war will in no way lead to the defeat of Hamas. In this context, Golan referred to the situation in the West Bank and stated that Israel has been fighting Hamas in this territory since 1987, but despite this, it has not been defeated and is still standing. He emphasized: In my opinion, there is currently no such situation or even possibility in Israel that all prisoners would be released and at the same time Hamas would be disarmed and removed from governing Gaza. He also said that in this situation, it is now in Israel’s interest to stop the war in Gaza.
Golan emphasized: Those who demand the release of all prisoners must know and accept the fact that Hamas will not be destroyed. He also said: None of us even know what the complete elimination of Hamas means, and without imagining or understanding Hamas, we are calling for its destruction.
According to the report, the Democratic Party chairman also referred to Netanyahu’s policies and emphasized that the most appropriate thing for the Zionist regime at this time is to stop the Gaza war, release the prisoners, remove Netanyahu, and hold early elections.
Golan said: Netanyahu is demanding personal obedience to him, contrary to the call to abide by the law. He added: The prime minister is asking Ronen Bar to take action against protesters and opponents who have not broken the law in any way, and is also asking him to lie to the court and obstruct the legal process.
Golan also stated that Netanyahu is not suitable for the post of Prime Minister of Israel due to his absolute incompetence and his decision to expand an endless war that costs soldiers’ lives. He emphasized the removal of Netanyahu from this position, saying with hesitation: Of course, if he can be removed from this position, I doubt it.
