Zionist media: Cultural and academic sanctions against Israel persist.
The Zionist media outlet continues its report by mentioning the boycott of the Eurovision Song Contest by some countries in protest of the massacre in Gaza as a shock to Israeli circles; an action that showed that the Gaza issue is still alive in global public opinion.
Haaretz also pointed to the deep divide between inside and outside Israel and wrote: While Israeli society considers the war to be a closed event, outside its borders, Gaza continues to have a strong presence in the cultural and political mindset, and in this regard, the Irish Broadcasting Corporation has withdrawn from participating in Eurovision due to the human losses in Gaza, the humanitarian crisis, and the targeting of journalists.
According to the report, more than a thousand well-known writers and literary figures around the world have announced that they are boycotting the cultural institutions of the Israeli regime. In addition, initiatives have been formed to boycott Israeli music, and a number of international actors and filmmakers have also joined the cinema boycott campaigns.
In the academic sphere, Haaretz reported on overt and covert boycotts of Israeli universities in Europe, including refusals to publish scientific articles, refusals to invite Israeli researchers to conferences, and reductions in scientific cooperation.
The Zionist newspaper also pointed to the extremely negative image of the Israeli regime among leading cultural and academic circles, writing that in many cases, opposition to the war has become opposition to the very existence of the occupation.
According to Haaretz, the greater danger lies in the erosion of Israel’s soft power, the threat to innovation and scientific cooperation, and the acceleration of elite emigration, a trend that could have long-term strategic consequences for the regime.
According to IRNA, the Israeli media previously emphasized that the wave of sports boycotts of the occupation regime around the world continues to grow, focusing on the withdrawal of Kuwaiti player Sultan Hassan from the match against Israeli player Dov Wilensky at the World Fencing Championships in Vancouver, Canada.
