PNN – A Zionist media outlet acknowledged that only 25% of Hamas’ tunnels have been destroyed since the start of the war against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Israeli TV Channel 12 quoted security officials as saying on Wednesday that after a year and a half of the war in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army was only able to destroy about 25 percent of the Hamas tunnels in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli security officials added that the Hamas movement still has 75% of the tunnels it had before the October 7, 2023 operation (Operation Al-Aqsa Storm).
The Israeli Channel 12 quoted these officials as claiming that the Hamas movement has a significant number of tunnels extending from the Gaza Strip to Egypt and uses them.

The Zionist newspaper Haaretz had previously acknowledged the failure of the Israeli army to overcome the problem of the Gaza Strip tunnels, describing the idea of sinking as ineffective.
A security source in Tel Aviv told the newspaper: What the Israeli army trained from ground to sky before the war is different from the reality it encountered in the Gaza Strip.
The Zionist newspaper Haaretz quoted its analyst Anshil Babar as saying: Israeli army officers believe that the Gaza Strip’s tunnel network is much larger and more intricate than previously thought. Army circles have come to believe that their forces are not capable of destroying all of the Hamas and Islamic Jihad tunnels in Gaza.
The analyst added: These tunnels predate the formation of Hamas in 1987 and will remain after the current war. It was thought that once the areas on the ground were under control within a few weeks, Hamas forces would be forced to leave the tunnels due to lack of oxygen, water, and food, but this was a mistake. It turned out that the tunnels were not only equipped with food and water for a long time, but were also designed to allow for the movement of forces to different areas of Gaza.
The American newspaper “The New York Times” had previously estimated, citing high-ranking security officials, the length of the tunnel network in Gaza at 700 kilometers, which contradicted the intelligence estimate at the beginning of the war of 400 kilometers.
