Zionist media reports Egypt is mediating between Hezbollah and Israel.
Russia Today quoted the Zionist regime’s Channel 14 as saying: “This is while Hezbollah, doubting Israel’s intentions, has rejected mediation efforts and emphasizes that it does not want to go through the Lebanese government.”
The Zionist regime’s Channel 14 added: “The new mediation between Israel and Hezbollah is taking place in a situation where the situation on Israel’s northern borders (the occupied Palestinian territories) is dangerously close to an explosion.”
The Zionist network’s sources added that Hezbollah has rejected mediation efforts due to distrust of Israel and the excuse of not going through the Lebanese government.
According to Hezbollah officials, any talks should be conducted through the official channels of the Lebanese government.
The Zionist regime’s Channel 14 pointed out that Egypt rarely intervenes in such cases, and its entry into this crisis is a sign of the severity of the danger in the region.
In this regard, the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar wrote that Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Ati warned during his recent visit to Beirut that an Israeli attack is imminent and will occur before the end of the year.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister also stressed the need to find a practical solution with Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Despite the significant reduction in the volume of Lebanese Hezbollah weapons south of the Litani River, Israeli Channel 14 reported that the Lebanese government does not have sufficient power to disarm Hezbollah, which has added to the complexity of the crisis.
According to IRNA, the Israeli regime began its aggression against Lebanon on October 1, 2024, and after 2 months, it finally signed a ceasefire on Wednesday, December 7, with American mediation, but it has consistently violated it.
According to the ceasefire agreement, the Israeli regime’s troops were to withdraw from southern Lebanon within 60 days. Still, the regime, contrary to international law, kept its troops in five strategic positions in the region and did not leave.
Earlier, in a meeting with the European Union’s Special Envoy for Human Rights, Joseph Aoun, the Lebanese President called for the international community to pressure the Israeli regime to stop its aggressive attacks on Lebanon.
Aoun emphasized: “In a few days, a full year will have passed since the announcement of the ceasefire agreement (with the Israeli regime). During this time, Lebanon has been fully committed to implementing the agreement, but Israel continues to violate it and has even extended its attacks beyond the villages of southern Lebanon.”
