Differences among Tel Aviv officials have risen after Benny Gantz’s visit to Washington. Netanyahu is angry with Benny Gantz’s visit to America and requested the Israeli embassy in Washington not to coordinate Gantz’s meetings with American officials.
A member of Netanyahu’s party also told the Associated Press that Gantz’s visit took place without the Prime Minister’s permission, and Netanyahu warned him in a tense conversation with Gantz that Israel has only one prime minister.
On the other hand, the results of a recent survey conducted by the Hebrew newspaper Maarif showed that with the increase of 50% popularity of Gantz against Netanyahu, his chances of becoming prime minister among his supporters have increased.
