PNN – Media reports point to Israeli activities near the shared borders with Egypt.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Egyptian sources speaking to Al-Akhbar newspaper emphasized that Israel’s claim of combating smuggling along the Egypt-occupied Palestine border, as well as declaring a military closed zone in the area, is aimed at creating ground developments before the entry of international forces into Gaza.

The sources added that Tel Aviv seeks to create leverage for future negotiations. It is anticipated that Israel may deploy its heavy weapons in this border area without coordinating with the stationed international forces.
An Egyptian military source also stressed that Egyptian forces deployed in Gaza outnumber and outgun the Israeli elements, and there is no cause for concern.
Yesterday, the news website Yisrael Hayom reported that Israel’s Defense Minister, Yisrael Katz, ordered the army to declare the border area between occupied Palestine and Egypt a military closed zone.
