Zionist officer commits suicide due to mental problems caused by the Gaza war

PNN – An Israeli officer who committed suicide due to psychological problems caused by the Gaza assault wrote in a message that the devil had been pursuing him for two years and he could no longer bear what he experienced on October 7.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, quoting Watan News Agency, the Hebrew newspaper Israel Hayom reported that one of the officers of the “Givati” brigade of the occupying army, who participated in the ground invasion of the Gaza Strip and the battles on October 7, committed suicide due to mental health issues.

Israel Hayom further reported that “a reserve Israeli officer, after struggling with psychological pressures from participating in battles in the towns adjacent to Gaza on the first day of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, committed suicide.”

The newspaper explained that the officer, Thomas Edzgowskas, after experiencing severe psychological strain due to his involvement in battles in the towns near Gaza on October 7, 2023, as well as post-traumatic stress and participation in ground operations inside Gaza, took his own life.

According to the Hebrew newspaper, the officer had previously warned that “he could no longer continue living and was going through devastating and confusing conditions.”

In his message, published on social media, he wrote that “the devil had been chasing him for two years, and he could no longer endure what he experienced on October 7, which led him to take drugs.”

The deceased Israeli officer also requested his family to cremate him and scatter his ashes in the sea. He further asked his brother not to enlist in the Israeli army.

At the end of last October, official Israeli data showed that over 18 months, 279 suicide attempts were recorded among Israeli military personnel, with 36 soldiers dying by suicide during the same period.

According to a report released a few weeks ago by the Israeli army, most of these suicides were caused by the harsh conditions soldiers experienced during the war in the Gaza Strip.
