Zionist regime seeks to break isolation by resuming relations with Bolivia.

The Zionist regime seeks to break the isolation by resuming relations with Bolivia.

According to the Israeli TV channel 11 (Kan), in continuation of Tel Aviv’s efforts to reduce international isolation and rebuild its position in Latin America, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar announced that the regime will officially announce the resumption of diplomatic relations with Bolivia today (Tuesday).

According to the report, Sa’ar and Bolivian Foreign Minister Fernando Aramayo will meet in Washington today and sign an agreement to resume relations. Bolivian Finance and Economy Minister José Gabriel Espinosa will also attend the ceremony.

The Israeli Foreign Minister said on Monday evening that recent political changes in Bolivia have paved the way for the revival of relations. He claimed: “There are signs of a change in Latin America. This process is very important for the United States and it is also important for Israel, because countries that are allies of the United States usually have friendly relations with Israel.”

He also announced the broader plans of the Israeli regime to strengthen its position in Latin America, emphasizing that the Minister of Commerce and Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica is currently in occupied Jerusalem to sign a free trade agreement and establish an innovation office. According to him, Ecuador has done the same. Argentina has also announced that it will open its embassy in occupied Palestine next spring, and Paraguay did so last year.

Earlier, the Israeli Foreign Minister congratulated Rodrigo Paz, the elected president of Bolivia from the Christian Democratic Party, on the victory of the election by promising a smooth transition without economic shocks, via a telephone conversation, and called for the resumption of relations after two decades of tension.

The Bolivian president-elect also responded positively to Gideon Saar’s proposal, stating that he intends to take steps to resume bilateral relations with the Israeli regime. He announced that he is seeking to change Bolivia’s course and open a “new chapter” in relations with the Israeli regime and the United States. He added that he intends to expand the country’s relations with the world.

Diplomatic sources in the regime estimated that Paz’s inauguration ceremony would begin a gradual process of renewing relations, including the return of ambassadors and the reopening of embassies.

According to Kahn, after two decades of rule by the leftist “Movement to Socialism” party led by current president Luis Arce and former president Evo Morales (2006-2019) over Bolivia, and years of staunch anti-Israel positions and severing ties with Tel Aviv, the country’s new president is eager to make a serious change in the country’s foreign policy.

Bolivia has twice severed ties with Israel in protest of the devastating and genocidal war in Gaza. This was done once after the 22-day war and the second time after the recent Gaza war. In this regard, the country’s authorities had canceled visa-free entry for Israeli tourists since 2014 in protest of the Gaza war. Although diplomatic relations between Bolivia and Israel were briefly established in 2019, they did not continue.

Also, six months ago, the Israeli Foreign Ministry warned Israelis to avoid traveling to Bolivia due to the tense diplomatic atmosphere.
