Zionists acknowledge the “catastrophic performance” of their military on October 7th.
According to the Zionist media, the Israeli army’s report on the attack by Hamas resistance marines on Israeli soldiers at the Zikim base (located adjacent to the Gaza Strip) has been covered by the Hebrew media.
The Haaretz newspaper wrote that the Israeli army published its investigation into the events of October 7 on the Zikim coast and revealed that its soldiers had failed in their defensive missions.
According to the report, the Israeli army’s investigation shows that “the escape of the [Golani Brigade] soldiers in the clash with Palestinian resistance elements on the Zikim coast was the biggest failure of October 7.”
The Jerusalem Post newspaper also wrote that the Israeli army failed to punish the Golan Brigade soldiers who had fled from the confrontation with Hamas fighters on October 7.
What does the Israeli army report say?
On the morning of October 7 the Qassam Marines attacked the Zikim naval base from the sea.
The Israeli military’s investigation shows that the force stationed on the Zikim coast fled during the attack by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades’ naval commandos on October 7.
The report states: “The number of forces was sufficient, but instead of engaging the armed attackers and preventing them from reaching the interior, they retreated and the military base fell into the hands of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam elements, even though the number of attackers was limited.”
According to the investigation, more than 100 soldiers from the Israeli army’s Golani Brigade hid in fortified rooms of the base, while 7 members of the brigade escaped from around it.
The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades fighters captured a “Savannah” military vehicle of the regime’s army and used it in the attack.
These fighters clashed with the Zionist soldiers from close range and a hand-to-hand battle ensued.
The Israeli army was unable to repel the attack by Hamas marines, and five commanders and one soldier from the Golani Brigade were killed during the operation.
In its investigation, the Israeli army admitted that the soldiers of this base, despite having advanced weapons, were defeated militarily and operationally by the resistance fighters.
The investigation stated that the base commander, who was responsible for investigating and reporting this defeat, remained at home and was not with his soldiers at the time of the incident.
