Zionists fear Mamdani’s victory in the world’s largest Jewish city.
The election of Zahran Mamdani, a Democratic Muslim politician who is anti-Israel, to the mayorship of New York, which is home to over two million Jews, has made Israeli officials even more concerned about the future of strategic relations between the United States and the Israeli regime.
According to the Israeli television channel “Haft”, Yaki Dayan, former Israeli consul in Los Angeles, said in response to Mamdani’s victory: “It is expected that Mamdani’s election will affect the daily lives of New York Jews; but this election will indicate a larger, more worrying trend for Israel in the future.”
Dayan said: “What this means for New York Jews is that now an anti-Israel, anti-Zionist, and even anti-Semitic Muslim candidate will take over the leadership of the largest Jewish city in the world.” He added: “This is worrying for Jews who want to cooperate with Israel and support Israelis.”
He emphasized that at present, a more serious issue than the domestic aspect of New York is the discussion about the Democratic Party, which may widely infiltrate the United States by electing Mamdani and prepare itself for the presidential election. Therefore, given the party’s stance on supporting Israel, we are more concerned than ever about our special relations with Washington.
He added: The fact that former US President Barack Obama introduces himself as Mamdani’s advisor shows that this is not a random and small event; rather, it is a much more worrying event whose negative consequences are expected to greatly affect US-Israeli relations.
The former Israeli Consul General in Los Angeles claimed that with the election of Mamdani to the mayorship of New York, Jews will witness massive anti-Israel and pro-Hamas demonstrations every day, and this will noticeably disrupt their daily lives.
Dayan continued: Beyond that, during his time as mayor of New York; If the city’s budget is not spent on cooperation with Israel and the Jews, Israeli advanced technology will leave the city and have a serious negative impact on the way of life of Jews. He added: “Although this impact is not at the state or federal level, it will be very undesirable.”
He also said: “Israel should be more concerned about US policy in West Asia, a policy in which the basis of support for Israel is gradually being destroyed, and this process is a very serious and worrying reality.”
