Atwan: Netanyahu and Eisenkot are two sides of the same coin of terrorism.

PNN – Criticizing the support shown by Arab members of the Zionist regime’s parliament for Eisenkot, Abdel Bari Atwan stated that Netanyahu and Eisenkot are two sides of the same coin—Zionism and terrorism—and that supporting them is unacceptable.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Abdel Bari Atwan, an analyst of regional strategic affairs, noted that there is no difference between Benjamin Netanyahu and Gadi Eisenkot regarding the premiership of the Zionist regime. He asserted that both not only support the genocide taking place in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Lebanon, but have also participated in this war side-by-side from the command center.

Expressing regret over the support shown by Arab members of the Knesset for Eisenkot—despite the latter’s four conditions for joining the Zionist regime’s cabinet—he added that this trend illustrates how the Zionists exploit Arab votes while simultaneously excluding Arabs from participation in the cabinet. Furthermore, stringent and humiliating conditions have been imposed on any Arab representative—from the two Arab coalitions that participated in the election—wishing to join the new cabinet.

This implies that while the political vote of the Arab population is “influential” in calculations regarding seat counts and the composition of the parliament, it is effectively “restricted” or “prohibited” within the actual decision-making process; in other words, they serve merely as bystanders, providing a veneer of legitimacy to decisions made by others.

In an examination of Eisenkot’s background, it was noted that he served as a commander in the Israeli army and as a member of the war cabinet—a body led by Netanyahu, who continues to head it. This cabinet has carried out genocide and ethnic cleansing in the Gaza Strip. Furthermore, during Eisenkot’s tenure, decisions were approved within the Knesset to annex the West Bank to the occupied territories and to arm settlers.

A few days ago, Eisenkot also issued a statement categorically rejecting any accusations that the “State of Israel” and its army have committed genocide.

Atwan described Netanyahu and Eisenkot as two sides of the same Zionist, terrorist coin, emphasizing that we must not distinguish between them under the pretext of choosing the “lesser of two evils.” We are under no obligation to make such a choice, nor should we succumb to it at an inopportune moment—especially now, as a wave of global opposition against this regime continues to rise.

He characterized any support for Eisenkot and his Zionist, terrorist coalition as a hasty, shortsighted act—an affront to the legacy of the resistance and the blood of the martyrs throughout Palestine, from the West Bank and the Gaza Strip to the occupied territories and all areas standing firm against Zionist “Judaization.”

Atwan stated: Our enemy is not merely Netanyahu; rather, it is every Zionist who has occupied our land, seeks to erase our national identity, and aims to bring about the destruction of our nation.
