PNN – Coinciding with the mourning period for Imam Hussein (AS), Bahraini sources reported that the Bahraini regime has banned the holding of Husseini mourning ceremonies.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing the Al-Wefaq website, the Bahraini regime, in its continued repression of Shiites, has banned the participation of citizens of Hamad City in the mourning groups that are held every year.

Some media outlets also reported that the mourning for Husseini has been banned for the fourth consecutive day.

On the other hand, Bahraini scholars warned in a statement yesterday about the policy of targeting and restricting Shiites in the country.

The statement states that the Bahraini government, in a cruel and provocative act, has banned some of the preachers from the Husseini pulpit and the mourners of the mourning groups from carrying out their religious duties in reviving the Husseini rituals, coinciding with the beginning of the Ashura season and the holy month of Muharram, an action that is a clear violation of religious freedom, the constitution, and the confiscation of the rights of believers to practice their beliefs in accordance with jurisprudential rulings.
