PNN – Following the rejection of Benjamin Netanyahu’s proposal to form a unity government with the opposition, protesters gathered in central Tel Aviv to demand a change in his administration.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing Al Jazeera, Netanyahu had proposed the formation of a unity government in an effort to secure the support of other parties and retain his position as Prime Minister. However, the “Yashar” party—led by his electoral rival, Gadi Eisenkot—rejected the proposal.
Netanyahu stated: Now is the time to form a unity government in Israel.
Yet, shortly after Netanyahu’s request, the Yashar party, headed by Gadi Eisenkot, pointed out that while Netanyahu had previously established a unity government and an emergency cabinet, he had consistently worked to undermine that administration and failed to honor agreements made with his partners.
The party added: If Likud and its allies wish to join a unity government, they must abandon their coalition with extremist parties and join a government led by me (Eisenkot).
Coinciding with Eisenkot’s remarks, a number of protesters in central Tel Aviv held a demonstration, calling for a change in Netanyahu’s government and the formation of a cabinet that includes Arab parties.
Meanwhile, Yair Golan, leader of “The Democrats” party, called for the replacement of Netanyahu’s government and the formation of a government of change.
Golan added that a government must be established to replace Netanyahu’s—a government dedicated to change—and that every effort should be exerted to achieve this goal.
Netanyahu’s Electoral Defeat Continues; Gadi Eizenkot Tasked with Forming Israel’s New Cabinet
Zionist media outlets reported moments ago that Isaac Herzog, the President of the Zionist regime, has officially tasked Gadi Eizenkot—leader of the Yashar party—with forming a new cabinet.
The office of the President of the Zionist regime announced that, following the conclusion of consultations, Herzog has tasked Eizenkot with the formation of a cabinet.
According to the report, the letter of appointment to form the cabinet will be delivered to Eizenkot tomorrow evening.
The office added that Eizenkot will have a period of 28 days—extendable by an additional 14 days (for a total of 42 days)—to form his cabinet.
Head of the Joint List Faction in the Knesset: We Are the Deciding Factor in the Formation of an Israeli Government
Ahmad Tibi, head of the Joint List faction in the Knesset (Israel’s parliament)—which represents Arab parties—has called for the formation of a minority government led by Gadi Eizenkot, with external support from the Arab lists. He emphasized that the objective of this coalition is to oust the government of Benjamin Netanyahu.
He stated: Eizenkot should form a minority government that receives external support from the Arab lists.
Al-Tibi stated that the goal of the Joint List is to topple the Netanyahu government—a government which, according to him, has committed crimes against many segments of the population in the occupied territories.
He further described Netanyahu as the greatest agent of destruction for Israel and the region.
In conclusion, the head of the Joint List parliamentary faction emphasized that his faction plays a decisive role in the ongoing consultations regarding the formation of a government.
