PNN – Following the wounding of six Israeli soldiers in an anti-Zionist operation in Hebron, Netanyahu ordered the city to be placed under siege and security measures to be tightened across the West Bank.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing Al Jazeera, Israeli media reported that Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, ordered the cancellation of all Likud party election-related activities scheduled for today, following a shooting incident early this morning at the northern entrance to the city of Hebron, in the southern occupied West Bank.
According to reports, two Palestinians were killed and six Israeli soldiers were wounded in this shooting. Israel Army Radio stated that the two gunmen were residents of Hebron. Citing the Hebrew-language media outlet Walla, initial assessments indicate that two young Palestinians caught Israeli forces off guard, opening fire as the soldiers approached them.
The Israeli military announced that its Chief of General Staff has ordered the reinforcement of troops in the central region and authorized the establishment of a complete security cordon around the city of Hebron and its surrounding villages.
The Israeli military further stated: Our forces are currently encircling Hebron and launching a large-scale offensive operation there.
Netanyahu also announced that he has ordered security forces to encircle Hebron and impose a complete lockdown on the West Bank. He claimed that Israeli forces had prevented a larger-scale attack in the West Bank, and asserted that they would pursue Hamas operatives—and those backing them—anywhere and at any time.
In a post on X, Netanyahu stated that he had instructed the regime’s forces to prepare for the implementation of “comprehensive restrictions” across the occupied West Bank, effective today.
In response to this operation, the Hamas movement declared that the Hebron operation serves as a clear message to the Zionist regime: the resistance will continue and will grow even stronger until the occupation of Palestinian lands and holy sites is brought to an end.
Saraya al-Quds, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, also described this operation as a natural and legitimate response to the crimes of the occupiers and the violent acts committed by settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank; it further called for an intensification of confrontation and direct conflict with Israeli forces and settlers, utilizing all available means.
