PNN – Hezbollah’s representative in the Lebanese parliament emphasized that the ceasefire must be comprehensive and lead to the realization of Lebanon’s demands, and that any presence or action by the Zionist regime on Lebanese soil legitimizes the right to resistance for the people of this country.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Ali Fayyad, a Lebanese parliamentarian affiliated with Hezbollah, stated in an interview with Al Jazeera that the ceasefire must be complete and comprehensive. Continuing to target positions in southern Lebanon is a violation of the agreement, and continuing terror operations would be a clear violation of the ceasefire.

He said: We will approach the ceasefire with caution and care. Any Israeli presence on Lebanese soil gives the people the right to resist.

Fayyad described the upcoming stage as complex and full of challenges and threats, saying the Lebanese government is unable to meet Israel’s complex demands. He also called for Israel’s withdrawal, a complete cessation of hostile actions, and the return of refugees.

He reiterated: Israel’s presence on Lebanese soil and any aggression gives the Lebanese people the right to resist. Fayyad added: A 10-day deadline will not be enough, and we are facing a complex stage.

He stressed that the ceasefire must lead to the realization of Lebanon’s demands.

Fayyad said: We are following all political developments with the utmost caution and care.

The Hezbollah representative announced: We reject direct negotiations with Israel and call on the Lebanese government to return to indirect negotiations.

He added: We are ready to talk to the government to resolve some points of disagreement, including the issue of weapons.

Stating that the worst-case scenario for the Lebanese would be entering into internal conflict, Fayyad said that the option of direct negotiations with Israel would lead to internal confrontation.

He concluded by saying: The ceasefire agreement was the result of Iranian pressure, Pakistani efforts, and Saudi cooperation.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that a ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel would be in effect for 10 days starting at midnight tonight (Thursday).
