PNN – The Indian Foreign Minister announced: We discussed the situation in West Asia and its consequences; we also exchanged views on bilateral issues of common interest.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar announced in a message on his X social media account on Friday: I had a detailed conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi this morning in Delhi.
The Indian Foreign Minister then added: We discussed the situation in West Asia and its consequences. We also exchanged views on bilateral issues of common interest. I appreciate his presence at the BRICS 2026 Summit.

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi and Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar met on Friday on the sidelines of the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi and discussed bilateral relations, regional developments, and multilateral cooperation.
In this meeting, the Foreign Minister of Iran thanked the Republic of India for its worthy hosting of the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, stated that very good discussions and meetings were held during this meeting, and expressed hope that during India’s presidency of BRICS, more coordination and achievements will be achieved among the member countries.
The two sides also discussed and exchanged views on the latest situation in the Strait of Hormuz and developments related to maritime security and regional stability.
