Israeli regime angered by Nobel Peace Prize awarded to former International Criminal Court judge

Nobel Peace Prize

PNN – The Israeli Foreign Ministry issued a statement expressing its anger over the awarding of the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize to Navi Pillay, a former judge at the International Criminal Court, claiming that if there were a prize for “lies, hatred, and blood libel,” Pillay would not only be a nominee but the most likely winner.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing the Israeli network i24, the ministry condemned the decision to award the prize to Pillay as a mistake and accused her of promoting “lies, hatred, and blood libel” against Israel.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry stated: If there were an award for lies, hatred, and blood libel, Navi Pillay would not merely be a nominee but the most likely winner.

The ministry described Navi Pillay’s accusations against Israel as part of a politically motivated campaign to demonize the Jewish state.

While the Zionist regime’s crimes in Gaza have drawn global condemnation, the ministry claimed that this award represents an egregious misuse of an accolade to legitimize hatred and pander to Israel’s detractors.

In separate remarks, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his anger over the awarding of the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize to Navi Pillay, a former judge of the International Criminal Court (ICC), stating: I commend President Trump and U.S. Secretary of State Rubio for their decisive decision to impose sanctions on the International Criminal Court.

He claimed: The International Criminal Court is not a court; rather, it is a political entity that threatens law-abiding democracies and national sovereignty.

The 2026 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded on Friday to South African jurist Navi Pillay, who chaired a UN-affiliated committee and had accused the Zionist regime of committing “genocide” in Gaza.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee commended her for her efforts to strengthen peace and international law.

Meanwhile, just hours after the announcement that the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize would be awarded to Navi Pillay—a former judge at the International Criminal Court—the United States imposed sweeping sanctions on the institution; a move accompanied by threats from U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio to dismantle and dissolve the court, as well as a pledge to continue Washington’s campaign to put an end to its operations.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on Friday (local time) that the United States has so far sanctioned 17 individuals under Executive Order 14203, titled “Imposing Sanctions on the International Criminal Court,” and has today implemented further measures to defend U.S. sovereignty and counter the threat posed by the Court.
