PNN – The Israeli Supreme Court has lifted a government ban preventing representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross from visiting Palestinian prisoners.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; France24 wrote: The court ruled in a ruling that the government had not provided sufficient justification for the general ban imposed after the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
The International Committee of the Red Cross welcomed the decision and said: It is ready to resume its visits to prisoners in Israeli detention centers.
A statement said: We continue our dialogue with the Israeli authorities to resume our work in detention centers as soon as possible.
The International Committee of the Red Cross has stressed that access to prisoners – including the possibility of private visits – is an obligation under international law.
It is worth noting that Israeli prisons are among the most feared and notorious prisons in the world, where Palestinian prisoners are tortured and killed.
