PNN – While the Israeli regime’s attack on Lebanon continues to claim victims, the country’s negotiating team confirmed the agreement with the Israeli regime to extend the 45-day ceasefire previously announced by the United States.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Al Jazeera, the Lebanese negotiating team announced the agreement of the warring parties to extend the current ceasefire for 45 days, claiming that this extension, along with the start of a security path under the supervision of the United States, will create a margin of stability for that country.
The team claimed that the extension of the ceasefire and the start of a security path under the supervision of the United States will open a new political horizon towards lasting peace and stability.
The delegation stressed that Lebanon will continue its constructive engagement in the negotiations, while insisting on its full commitment to national sovereignty and ensuring the security of its citizens.
The delegation also reiterated its commitment to reaching a comprehensive agreement that fully restores Lebanese sovereignty and guarantees the security of all citizens.
In the final part of the statement, the Lebanese delegation called for the implementation of an enforceable and verifiable mechanism with US guarantees for the implementation of commitments, provided that this does not harm Lebanese national sovereignty.
This news comes minutes after the US State Department announced that the ceasefire between Lebanon and the Israeli regime has been extended for another 45 days.
This comes as the Israeli regime’s attacks on southern Lebanon continue, and in this regard, the country’s Ministry of Health announced that three aid workers were martyred in the Israeli regime’s attack on southern Lebanon.
