PNN – In an interview with CNN, the Mayor of New York once again called for the arrest of the Israeli Prime Minister should he visit New York, stating that no one should be above the law.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani reiterated his stance regarding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in an interview with CNN, stating that Netanyahu should be arrested if he travels to New York to attend UN General Assembly meetings.
Mamdani described Netanyahu as a war criminal and the architect of a horrific genocide against the Palestinian people, noting that the issue of Netanyahu was also raised during his recent meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at the New York Mayor’s residence.
In this interview, the Mayor of New York stated that if the International Criminal Court has determined an individual warrants arrest for violating international law, who are we to say that someone should be above these laws? He emphasized the necessity for everyone to be held accountable under the law.
Adams had previously stated that he had examined the legal avenues available to enforce the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court against Netanyahu, should the Israeli Prime Minister travel to New York.
However, he has stated that New York City officials lack the independent legal authority to enforce this warrant, and that the U.S. federal government holds the authority in this matter. Mamdani has called on the federal government to join the International Criminal Court and execute the arrest warrant for Netanyahu.
