PNN – The USS Eisenhower suffered a fire while undergoing repairs at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, injuring three sailors.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; A US Navy spokesman confirmed that a small fire had broken out on the ship. The sailors were treated by the ship’s medical team and have since returned to full duty.
The Express reported that on April 14, the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower suffered a small fire that was quickly extinguished by the ship’s crew and personnel at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
The US Navy spokesperson also noted that: The aircraft carrier has been docked at the Virginia-based Naval Shipyard for 16 months.
This comes after two sailors were injured in a fire on the USS Gerald R. Ford, an aircraft carrier deployed to the Iran war.
The US military said the ship suffered a fire in the main laundry area of the ship, unrelated to combat. The Ford is the newest aircraft carrier in the US Navy and the largest in the world. It has a crew of more than 5,000 sailors and the capacity to carry more than 75 military aircraft.
