PNN – The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, in response to the European Union’s decision to sanction several settlers and the settlement organization in the West Bank, called the move a sign of Europe’s “moral bankruptcy.” The sanctions were approved after months of disagreement among members.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said the European Union had shown its “moral bankruptcy” by placing Israeli citizens in detention.

Earlier, EU foreign policy chief Kaia Kallas announced that EU foreign ministers had agreed on a new package of sanctions against settlers involved in West Bank violence, as well as a number of Hamas figures.

The sanctions include three settlers and four settlement organizations; a measure that had been on hold for months due to domestic opposition and was reintroduced after political changes in some EU member states.
