PNN – Benjamin Netanyahu’s Hollywood-style stunt regarding the incident involving the Emirati plane has backfired on him.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Israel Hayom reported that many Israeli figures are demanding further explanations as to how a bladed weapon was successfully brought onto the aircraft.
The report’s introduction states that the head of the “Bahad” organization demanded accountability from officials following the attempted attack. Karin Turner lashed out at Israeli Transportation Minister Miri Regev, while Eisenkot remarked: Those who refuse an investigation and shirk responsibility will be unable to prevent the next disaster (failure).
According to the media outlet, Naftali Bennett—former Prime Minister and leader of the “Unity” party—launched a scathing attack today against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Transportation Minister Miri Regev following the attempted attack on a Fly Dubai flight.
Bennett declared that the government is failing to conduct a sufficient investigation into the lapses that led to this incident; he demanded accountability regarding security measures for flights bound for Tel Aviv, stating: We are truly brave, but the government’s negligence is a shocking and appalling matter.
According to Bennett: Any rational government should have treated this incident as if a plane had crashed and 174 Israelis had been killed; any prime minister who cares about Israel’s security ought to have demanded answers from the Minister of Transportation and dismissed him immediately.
The leader of the “Unity” party raised a series of questions that, according to him, remain unanswered: Is air travel to Israel (occupied Palestine) safe or dangerous? Have pilots of Iranian descent flown to Israel recently? And what specific measures is the government taking now to prevent a similar error from occurring?
Bennett linked this incident to the failures of October 7 (Operation Al-Aqsa Flood), emphasizing: There is a direct line between the failure regarding the aircraft and the October 7 massacre. The arrogance of Netanyahu and his ministers has caused them to neglect their duties, leaving us—and Israel’s security—to fend for ourselves.
Gadi Eisenkot, leader of the “Yashar” party, also joined the chorus of criticism, calling for Regev’s dismissal and the establishment of an independent, external inquiry committee to investigate the failure.
Eisenkot stated: In a healthy and reformed government, the Minister of Transport would have submitted her resignation last night; had she failed to do so, the Prime Minister would have dismissed her immediately.
He added that the Prime Minister should have ordered the formation of a “robust and independent” inquiry committee this very day and demanded accountability from all officials involved.
Eisenkot linked this incident to the failures of October 7th and emphasized: There is a thin thread connecting the failure of October 7th to the current failure: the culture of lies, secrecy, and evasion of responsibility institutionalized by Benjamin Netanyahu and his ministers. They have learned nothing from October 7th. Those who refuse to face an inquiry and shirk responsibility will be unable to prevent another catastrophe.
Karin Turner, a former Director-General of the Ministry of Transport and a candidate on the “Together” list, also attacked Rigo, stating: This failure has a specific person responsible—her name is Mary Rigo.
Bennett and Turner concluded their remarks with political messages ahead of the election—taking place in 23 days—and declared that their party would strive to replace the current government.
