PNN – Turki Al-Faisal praised Saudi Arabia’s policy of silence in the face of Iranian attacks on American interests in the country, writing: If Riyadh had responded to these attacks, the oil and desalination facilities would have been destroyed.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Turki Al-Faisal, former Saudi ambassador to Washington, wrote in an article in the Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper that Saudi Arabia prevented a devastating war in the region.
He stated that the Saudi kingdom made great efforts to prevent the war and pursued intensive efforts to stop it and find diplomatic solutions to it and remove the region from this conflict.
He added that if the Zionist regime’s plan to ignite a war between us and Iran were successful, the region would be plunged into devastation and destruction, thousands of people would lose their lives in a battle in which we had no role, and Tel Aviv would succeed in imposing its will on the region.
Al-Faisal added in the article that if Saudi Arabia had responded to Iran’s attacks in the same manner, the outcome of the war could have led to the destruction of Saudi Arabia’s oil facilities and desalination stations along the Persian Gulf coast and even deep inside the country.
He added in the article that Saudi Arabia, together with Pakistan, is putting out the fire of war and helping to prevent an escalation of tensions.
