PNN – Ankara rejected the baseless accusations leveled by Netanyahu against Turkey at the UN General Assembly, emphasizing that these claims are unfounded and fail to conceal the reality of the killings in Gaza.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing Anadolu Agency; Turkey dismissed the accusations made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against the country and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during his speech at the UN General Assembly, labeling them “baseless.”
Fahrettin Altun, Turkey’s Communications Director announced Turkey’s strong criticism of Netanyahu’s claims, describing them as contrary to United Nations values. He also emphasized that using the UN General Assembly podium to level accusations against Turkey and Erdoğan conflicts with the principles of peace, law, and dialogue that the United Nations represents.
Doran emphasized that Netanyahu’s statements cannot conceal the reality of the killings and the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, nor the ongoing international legal proceedings.
In his speech at the General Assembly, Netanyahu attacked Ankara and its president, labeling Erdoğan a “tyrant” and claiming that Turkey has harbored Hamas leaders and disseminates “antisemitic lies.”
Moments before Netanyahu began his speech, dozens of delegates from various countries walked out of the hall, while a number of representatives chanted slogans and shouted in protest against him.
In his address to the UN General Assembly, the President of Turkey called on world leaders to exert greater pressure on the Zionist regime to halt its aggression against the Gaza Strip. He also urged all nations to recognize an independent Palestinian state.
Turkish Parliament Reaffirms Support for the Palestinian People
Meanwhile, Numan Kurtulmuş, the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, stated: Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, rushed to New York and departed as if he were fleeing; yet, wherever they may flee, they will be held accountable for the crimes against humanity they have committed.
He emphasized: The Turkish Parliament is the most effective institution globally in monitoring and condemning the crimes against humanity perpetrated by the Zionist regime in Gaza and Palestine.
He noted that since October 7, 2023, the parliament has unanimously passed nine motions regarding Palestine and the Zionist regime, and these motions have become state policy.
He added: We will expand the group of parliamentarians supporting Palestine, transforming it into an international platform that reflects the conscience of humanity in the face of the Israeli regime.
