PNN – The US Treasury Department announced that Indian company Adani Enterprises has agreed to pay $275 million to settle 32 alleged sanctions violations related to the Iranian origin of LPG shipments; at the same time, there have been reports that the US Department of Justice is close to dropping criminal charges against the company after it promised to invest heavily in the US.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network; The US Treasury Department claimed to have reached a $275 million settlement with Indian company Adani Enterprises over 32 alleged violations of US sanctions against Iran.

According to Al Jazeera, the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control claimed in a statement that Adani Enterprises had purchased shipments of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from a Dubai-based trader who claimed to supply Omani and Iraqi gas, but the actual origin of the shipments was Iran.

Reuters had previously reported that the US Department of Justice was also close to dropping criminal fraud charges against Adani, a move that came after the company promised to invest $10 billion in the US economy.
