PNN – Fox News, affiliated with the Republican Party of America, announced that Tulsi Gabbard, the US Director of National Intelligence, has resigned from her position.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Fox News reported on Friday local time: Tulsi Gabbard has resigned as director of national intelligence to support her husband in his battle with a “very rare form of bone cancer.”
Gabbard informed President Donald Trump during a meeting in the Oval Office of the White House on Friday, Fox News reported. Her last day on the job is expected to be June 30.
Fox News added: We have exclusively obtained her official resignation letter, in which Gabbard wrote: I sincerely thank you for the trust you have placed in me and the opportunity to lead the Office of the Director of National Intelligence for the past year and a half.
Gabbard wrote in this letter to Trump: Unfortunately, I must submit my resignation, effective June 30, 2026. My husband, Abraham, was recently diagnosed with a very rare form of bone cancer.
She said her husband will face serious challenges in the coming weeks and months. At this time, I must step down from public service to be by his side and fully support her in this battle.
The US Director of National Intelligence added: Abraham has been my pillar of strength throughout our 11 years together. From standing by my side during my deployment to East Africa on a joint Special Operations Forces mission, to several election campaigns, and now my service in this position.
Gabbard said that during her tenure at the Office of National Intelligence (ODNI), “significant progress” has been made, including advancing unprecedented transparency and restoring integrity to the intelligence community, but “significant work remains.”
In this letter to Trump, Gabbard continued: Thank you for your understanding during this deeply personal and difficult time for our family. I will forever be grateful to you and the American people for the great honor of serving our nation as Director of National Intelligence.
Fox News also said about Tulsi Gabbard following his resignation: During her tenure as Director of National Intelligence, Gabbard initiated a transformative effort to redesign the intelligence community, including reducing the size of the agency, saving taxpayers more than $700 million per year; eliminating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs in the intelligence community, and more.
Gabbard also declassified more than 500,000 pages of government documents as of this month (May 2026), including documents related to the Trump-Russia investigation, the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy, and more.
She also declassified documents related to the start of the so-called “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation into Trump and Russia, claiming that the documents showed that Obama administration officials politicized information about Russian interference in the 2016 election and used it to undermine Trump’s first election victory.
Meanwhile, Gabbard created the “Weaponization Working Group,” a group aimed at coordinating efforts across the federal government to expose what she called “the Biden administration’s political use of government institutions.”
Also during her tenure, the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) barred more than 10,000 individuals associated with drug cartels and terrorism from entering the country in 2025 and placed more than 85,000 others on a terrorist watch list.
