Walid Jumblatt: The army will never stand against Hezbollah/the resistance is not responsible for the war

Walid Jumblatt

PNN – Questioning the government’s passive stance towards Israel, the Lebanese Druze leader Walid Jumblatt said Hezbollah is not responsible for the wars.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Walid Jumblatt, former head of the Progressive Socialist Party of Lebanon and leader of the country’s Druze community, who has taken rational and national positions in support of the resistance and struggle against the occupiers over the past years and has repeatedly warned in the last two wars about Zionist conspiracies to incite sedition and create internal chaos in Lebanon, announced in his new remarks about the recent developments in the country that Israel has drawn a yellow line in southern Lebanon that crosses Mount Hermon and extends into Syria to the vicinity of Damascus. This line could be expanded in the future and include parts of Houran and the Daraa province in southern Syria.

The army will never stand up to Hezbollah

In an interview with the French newspaper Le Monde, Walid Jumblatt stated that Israel is using the same criminal tactics in Lebanon that it used in Gaza, systematically destroying Lebanese villages, displacing almost a million Lebanese and razing nearly 60 villages to the ground.

Regarding internal movements and conspiracies, especially by the Lebanese government and parties affiliated with the American-Zionist enemy, to disarm Hezbollah, he said that there is only one armed force in Lebanon, and that is Hezbollah, so who is willing to fight this movement?

The Lebanese Druze politician clarified: Even the army will never stand against Hezbollah, because a large number of Lebanese army soldiers are Shiites, so is it conceivable that Shiite soldiers would come and fight Hezbollah under the orders of Israel and America? This is impossible.

The Lebanese government cannot stop Israeli aggression

Jumblatt went on to question the Lebanese government’s direct negotiations with the Zionist enemy, saying that the Lebanese government has no room for maneuver; unless the United States forces the Israelis to withdraw from southern Lebanon and makes a real commitment to a ceasefire, but this is pure fantasy.

He stated that Hezbollah launched a war against Israel in support of Gaza after October 7, 2023, and after the start of the US-Israeli war against Iran, it also entered the battle with the Israelis, but it cannot be said that Hezbollah is responsible for these wars, because we do not know what Israel’s real intentions are.

Israel seeks to divide the entire region

The leader of the Lebanese Druze community further emphasized that Israel is expanding its wars in a colonial manner and that soon there will be no land left to establish a Palestinian state, and today’s conditions have become such that the creation of a Palestinian state is nothing more than an illusion.

Walid Jumblatt also warned about the Zionist conspiracies in Syria, saying that stability in Syria is essential for stability in Lebanon and that the new Syrian government must act responsibly and take control of a country that has fallen apart after more than 10 years of civil war and sectarian massacres.

He stated that unfortunately, the Druze of Syria chose the path of disintegration, while I chose the path of Arabism. They consider me a traitor, but I still believe that Israel’s influence in the Syrian Druze community is part of the Zionist plan to disintegrate this country and then the entire region.
