PNN – The escalation of arrests, revocation of citizenship, and repression of Bahraini Shiites, supported by the United States and the Zionist regime, has once again exposed the West’s double standards and the silence of institutions claiming to be human rights.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; in recent days, the government of the small island of Bahrain has intensified a wave of arrests, revocations of citizenship, and repression against Shiites, who constitute the majority of the country’s population; several religious scholars have also been arrested and dozens of others have been deprived of citizenship. These measures, along with false accusations against Iran, are taking place in a situation where, on the one hand, the global awakening against the United States and the Zionist regime and the recognition of the legitimacy of resistance have become undeniable, and on the other hand, the silence of human rights advocates and international institutions regarding these developments has once again exposed the scandal of their double standards.
Baseless Claims against Iran and Field Facts
The rulers of Bahrain have made baseless claims against Iran to justify these behaviors; while the Islamic Republic of Iran has always emphasized the principle of good neighborliness with the countries of the region. Even though Bahrain had become part of the bases and centers of American-Zionist military aggression against Iran, the Islamic Republic, based on humanitarian considerations, neighborliness, and consideration for the people of this land, merely targeted the interests, bases, and goals of the hostile enemy.
What is being seen in Bahrain today has its roots, on the one hand, in the suppressed demands of the February 14, 2011 protests (the Pearl Square uprising); demands that were never fulfilled and have now resurfaced like an old wound. On the other hand, protesting against American-Zionist warmongering and support for Iran has become a global phenomenon; even in the heart of Europe and America, popular demonstrations against the aggressors are being held. Therefore, popular movements in an Islamic country to protest American-Zionist crimes are natural and arise from the spirit of humanitarianism and Islamic commitment, and attributing it to Iran is considered a false and unreliable claim.
The Awakening of Nations and the Failure of the Regional Dependency Project
The essential point is that by standing up to America, Iran has taught the nations of the world – especially the nations that are under the domination and pressure of Washington’s policies – a lesson in resistance and independence; so much so that today, even in Europe, countries like Spain are openly taking a stand against the policies of America and the Zionist regime. In such circumstances, the tendency of the Bahraini nation towards true independence, ending American domination and distancing itself from relations with the Zionist regime is natural and expresses the voice of this nation demanding justice; a voice that makes the falsehood of Manama’s accusations against Iran and the axis of resistance even more obvious than before.
Bahraini leaders, through their repression and baseless accusations against Iran, cannot cover up their extensive cooperation with the American-Zionist aggressors against regional security, nor will they be able to legitimize Iran in the Security Council under false pretenses by creating illusions and playing into their hands, because world public opinion is no longer receptive to such deceptions, and Bahraini rulers, as participants in American-Zionist crimes, are subject to global accountability.
Religious Cleansing Project with an American-Zionist Version
The behavior of the Bahraini government in recent years shows that the country’s rulers, especially since 2011, have followed the example of American-Zionist policies and pursued an organized project of ethnic and religious cleansing with the aim of eliminating Shiites – who constitute the majority of the country’s population – and also changing the demographic structure through immigration.
The presence of Zionist torturers and spies and the use of American-British tools of oppression and torture against the people of Bahrain is a proven and obvious fact. It seems that the leaders of Bahrain, who have played a key role in the American-Zionist crisis-making in the region, are exploiting the inflamed atmosphere in the region to intensify the process of oppression and ethnic-religious cleansing; the same process that the Zionist regime is simultaneously pursuing in occupied Palestine.
The Americans, who themselves have a dark history of cleansing the native Indians, are still considered supporters and promoters of such policies in both regimes today.
The West’s Silence; Direct Participation in the Repression of Bahrain
The repression and policies of ethnic and religious cleansing in Bahrain have once again exposed the disgrace of human rights advocates and international institutions. The same governments and movements that cry out for the defense of humanity and the right to life for the smallest issues in Iran and some other countries, and even talk about sanctions and the military option with the claim of supporting the people, have remained silent in the face of the repression, discrimination, and religious cleansing in Bahrain and are practically complicit in these behaviors.
The developments in Bahrain have once again exposed the futility of Western human rights claims, as well as the inefficiency and politicization of international institutions; a trend that further highlights the need to review global structures and move toward a new order, independent of the dominance of great powers and based on fair multilateralism.
Developments such as those taking place in Bahrain today further clarify the legitimacy of Iran’s positions on the necessity of America’s withdrawal from the region and confrontation with the Zionist regime; an issue for which Iran’s intelligent management of the Strait of Hormuz and the explanation of a new regional order are important components of its realization.
