PNN – The Speaker of the Yemeni Parliament has called for an end to the Saudi-led aggression and blockade in letters addressed to his counterparts in Pakistan and Turkey.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Yahya al-Ra’i, the Speaker of the Yemeni House of Representatives, sent letters on Wednesday to his counterparts in Pakistan and Turkey. In these letters, he outlined the scope of the crimes committed by Saudi Arabia over the past 12 years and urged Islamabad and Ankara to play a constructive role by encouraging Riyadh to end the war and the blockade.
Presenting shocking statistics, Al-Ra’i announced that Saudi Arabia’s acts of aggression have resulted in the death or injury of approximately 60,000 civilians, including over 8,000 children and 6,000 women. He further added that more than 1.4 million Yemenis have lost their lives due to the consequences of the blockade.
Emphasizing that Sana’a remains committed to the language of reason and peace, the Speaker of the Yemeni Parliament stated that Riyadh—by violating the agreed-upon roadmap and escalating military operations—has forced Sana’a to implement a “blockade-for-blockade” equation.
Since 2015, Saudi Arabia has waged a devastating war against Yemen by forming a military coalition—a conflict that continues to this day. This war has been accompanied by a comprehensive naval, aerial, and land blockade, precipitating an unprecedented humanitarian crisis in Yemen.
According to statistics from international bodies, hundreds of thousands of Yemenis have lost their lives as a direct result of the war and its consequences, and millions have been displaced. Over the past years, the people of Yemen have repeatedly called for the complete lifting of the blockade and an end to Saudi attacks.
