PNN – Bahrain revokes citizenship of three members of parliament for expressing sympathy for Iran.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Al-Mayadeen, the Bahraini House of Representatives voted on Thursday to revoke the membership of three members of parliament for expressing views related to convergence with Iran.
Abdul Nabi Salman, First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, Mamdouh Al-Saleh, Head of the Services Committee, and Mahdi Al-Shuwaykh, MP, are the three members who have been temporarily revoked of citizenship after expressing sympathy for Iran.
Bahraini official newspapers claim that this decision was made based on Article 99 of the Constitution and the internal regulations of the House of Representatives regarding penalties for violating membership duties!
These three representatives had previously criticized the measures taken against those accused of expressing sympathy for Iran, including the revocation of citizenship from a number of citizens, in a session of the House on April 28, 2026, during the consideration of the amendment to the Judiciary Law.
