Arab-International Meeting on Syria Ends with a Statement.
According to Sputnik, Arab and non-Arab countries participating in the Riyadh summit on Syria issued a statement at the end of the summit.
The statement reads: “We stand by the choices of the Syrian people and respect their will, and emphasize the need to end terrorism in Syria. We support a political transition in Syria that includes the Syrian political and social forces, protects the rights of all Syrians, and is carried out with the participation of all segments of the Syrian people.”
The countries stated: “We work to resolve all challenges or issues of concern to the various parties through dialogue, providing support, proposals, and consultations in a way that preserves Syria’s independence and sovereignty. We call for the lifting of unilateral and international sanctions against Syria and the provision of humanitarian and economic support to it.”
The statement continued: “We are concerned about Israel’s entry into the buffer zone with Syria and its adjacent positions in Jabal al-Sheikh and Quneitra province, and we emphasize the importance of respecting the integrity of Syria and its sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
