PNN – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported the assassination of Farhan Mansour, a Shiite cleric and imam of the shrine of Hazrat Zainab (AS) in the suburbs of Damascus.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; The official Syrian news agency (SANA) announced that unknown individuals targeted his car with an improvised explosive device near the Safir Al-Zahraa Hotel in the Fatimiyya area of the Damascus countryside.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights further noted that he was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Syrian media later announced that he had died from his injuries.
The official Syrian news agency (SANA) reported, citing a security source, that the explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device and that the Interior Ministry was investigating it.
